Short description:

Currently the clothing industry has a huge environmental impact. The clothing industry causes clothing waste, water pollution, exhaustion of raw materials, deforestation, animal suffering and poor living- and working conditions. We aim to make the fashion industry more sustainable and raise awareness among people working and living on and around the Zuidas. Between 9 April and 27 April we challenge all people working and living in or around the 'Zuidas' to hand in their discarded jeans, shirts and suits and we offer them a discount coupon for the circular fashion items! As a kickoff, on 5 April we host the Fashion Forward event at Circl, together with Pakhuis de Zwijger, during which the entrepreneurs behind the sustainable fashion industry will show, promote and talk about their business.

Goal / impact

By placing containers to collect used jeans and old shirts and by giving a platform to companies that can reuse or recycle these used jeans (MUD Jeans) and old shirts (VanHulley) in various offices at the Zuidas. Also, we want to connect Zuidas employees with DutchSpirit, a company that makes sustainable, customized business suits and contributes to a better world for humans, animals, nature and environment. And introduce hemd – shirts as a service, a promising start-up that will soon start with a second pilot. MUD Jeans, VanHulley, DutchSpirit and hemd are contributing to close the loop in the fashion industry and to help the fashion industry create a minimal environmental impact.

If at least 500 business people make a sustainable fashion choice (i.e. recycle your jeans, shirt or suit and/or replace by a circular item from e.g. MUD Jeans, DutchSpirit, Van Hulley or hemd), we can make a fashionable impact together!
