Short description:

A discarded phone contains gold, copper and silver: it is full of scarce resources that go to waste if not optimally recycled. By handing in your old phones, you can stimulate the re-use of resources and learn to appreciate the value of discarded phones. For every phone that is handed in, a phone otherwise disposed in a developing country gets recycled. You can hand in the phones in an arcade machine in ITO tower (next to Dicky’s).

Goal / impact

Between April 9 and Friday April 27, we challenge all people living and working at the Zuidas to return as many old phones (including accessories) as possible. You can hand in your old phones at the ITO tower in an arcade machine and get credits for playtime in return. SIMS Recycling Solutions ensures safe and certified data wipe and disposal.

If 200 business people hand in their unused private phones, we recycle 200 phones otherwise dumped in developing countries.
